One Good* Day

I’m really passionate about mental health – so much so, it formed a big part of my PhD research. So when I was introduce to the powerhouse that is Kollen Sussman (via Kate at Studio Wildling), I was beyond excited. Kol and his team of NDIS recovery coaches work with people who have psychosocial disabilities, supporting them to get access to the services (and confidence) they need to live life on their own terms. Talk about inspiring!

For a little over a year, I worked closely with the team to develop some incredible blog content. Not only was I able to explore different mental health issues and ideas, but I also got to interview OG*D staff and clients about their lived experience of mental health and trauma. It was humbling to amplify their stories and contribute to something that’s really important – all while doing something I love, which is connecting with people and writing.

What I love most about One Good* Day is their unwavering passion for healing and recovery. They’re advocates for improving the ways in which mental health is treated and are actively starting a new conversation about disability in Australia. Spending even just a little time with Kol and his team will open your eyes to what’s really going on – and also to what’s possible.
