To think––everything we know, love, despise, r $To think––everything we know, love, despise, regret, cherish and avoid all stems from combinations of 26 letters.⁣ ⁣ As kids, we learn them through song and it’s all fun and games.⁣ ⁣ But as we get older, words become weapons of both love and hate, creating and destroying in equal measure. ⁣ ⁣ If you’ve just joined me on here, welcome 😍 I tend to wax lyrical on writing and language often, so strap in!⁣ ⁣ I think very deeply about the words I choose to express myself. Because if I don’t, there’s nothing for you to anchor yourself to when we’re interacting. ⁣ ⁣ No ground. No structure. No meaning.⁣ ⁣ Why is something so valuable often so overlooked? ⁣ Why aren’t we all paying more attention to the details?⁣ When did it become okay to speak and write like everyone else?⁣ ⁣ Probably around the same time we lost touch with who we are, with what makes us a thorn in reality. ⁣ ⁣ I want to wedge myself in your thoughts, mildly irritating your perspectives. ⁣ ⁣ If you’re lazy and let words fly out of your mouth (or fingertips) without any care, I will grab as many as I can and hand them back to you, one by one.⁣ ⁣ “Look at what you’ve done,” I’ll say, “they’re all fractured, burnt or drowning.”⁣ ⁣ Is your world in chaos, marked by overwhelm and scarcity? Or is it in full technicolour, everything flowing and moving with grace? ⁣ ⁣ You’re in charge of that narrative and it’s all in how you treat those 26 letters. ⁣ ⁣ Observe the quality (and quantity) of your words––are they serving you, or are they your prison?$
