It's time to Spiral Up

your PATHWAY TO CREATIVELY-FUELLED GROWTH

Experience a framework of practical tools and expansive creative practices designed to help you self-soothe and bolster you for growth when faced with life’s challenges and setbacks.

Had the wind knocked out of you lately?

had the wind knocked out of you lately?

After what feels like an eternity of being blocked, banging your head against the same brick wall or chasing your own tail, are you just DONE? Has the pandemic been the thief of your joy and creativity, leaving you feeling flat, uninspired and a little lost?

I HEAR YA – it’s been one heck of a ride these past few years. The old rules don’t apply anymore and it’s left us all searching for more – more meaning, more connection and more purpose.

But there’s one thing I believe more than anything in the world – YOU ARE CREATIVE. You might not *think* you have an artistic bone in your body, but being creative is sooo much more than painting or singing: it is an invaluable tool you can tap into at any time to heal, grow and thrive.

You might remember the Nietschze quote: ‘that which does not kill us, makes us stronger’, but I think there’s more to it than that. What doesn’t kill us is an invitation to get creative, an invitation to expand beyond the rules and create the world we want to live in.

I’ll let you in on a secret: growth isn’t linear. It’s a spiral – one that we can incrementally move up or slide back down depending on how aligned we are to our creativity. So if you’re sick of your own BS and ready to blow the lid off your creative potential, keep scrolling.

Hey legend, I’m Dr Marion Piper

After completing my PhD in 2017, I took a huge step back from the work I knew I was here to contribute to the world to let it all integrate and percolate. I knew there would be a time for this stuff but it didn’t feel right – that all changed in March 2020.

Rather than sit around twiddling my thumbs, I doubled down on my copywriting skills and started my own business. I’ve seen firsthand how much people struggle with creativity – finding it, using it and ultimately harnessing it to live life on their own terms.

I bring more than a decade of experience in the creative industries to our work together, which means I know how to turn that idea in your head into something tangible in the world. But I’ve also been through a lot of shit – shit I’ve used as fodder to get to the bottom on one question: “what does it mean to live a truly creative life?”

Introducing Spiral Up

Part course, part retreat, part laboratory

In 6 weeks, I’ll collide you with the concepts, tools and creative practices you can use to self-soothe and feel more creative. If you’re looking for a huge personal transformation, go to Tony Robbins – in Spiral Up, we’ll be going after the next logical step, those bite-sized shifts and small, manageable actions. Why? When you make creativity a habit, you learn to focus on and fall in love with the process, not the destination.

SPIRAL UP IS FOR YOU IF...

You’re sick of consuming (and want to create)

You're craving magic in daily life

You want to fall back in love with creating

You want to carve your own pathway to growth

You want to talk about ideas, not complain about life

but FIRST...
WHAT IS CREATIVITY?

Let’s get clear on this from the start: being creative IS NOT just about being artistic. You read that right. I’m not going to teach you how to paint, draw or sing (even though I probz could, ha!).

Creativity is an expansive concept with many different layers – all of which we’ll explore in Spiral Up – but it’s been conflated with artistry for too long. My flavour of creativity is holistic: it’s innate, meaning we just need to find the tap inside ourselves and turn it on.

WHAT WILL I LEARN in SPIRAL UP?

WHAT WILL I LEARN in
spiral up?

WEEK 1: SPACE & TIME

I always hear people say “I don’t have time for creativity” or “I don’t have any room at home to be creative”. In week one, I’ll show you how to make space and dedicate time to your creative practice.

week 2: posttraumatic growth

When life throws you a curveball, do you react or respond? Posttraumatic growth (aka PTG for short) doesn’t see trauma or adversity as a death sentence – quite the opposite. In week 2, you’ll learn all about PTG and the framework I use to navigate the shit storms when they arrive.

WEEK 3:
ENERGY & INFORMATION

Another common theme that crops up with creativity, is not feeling like you have enough energy or the right skills to bring your vision to life. In week 3, we’ll unpack this and I’ll show you how to pull the levers to replenish your creativity if the well feels like it has gone dry.

week 4:
THE CREATIVE PROCESS

So often we focus on the products of creativity: paintings, online courses, products, etc, but pay no mind to the process. In week 4, I’ll share my unique creative process, step by step, and support you to build a process that’s uniquely fit to you and what you do.

WEEK 5:
CRAFTING A CREATIVE PRACTICE

Once you understand the process, it’s time to put it into action. In week 5, we’ll be exploring what it means to practice creativity and how turning creativity into a habit can bolster you for growth when shit hits the fan. Again, it’s not about becoming Picasso, but about adjusting the lens through which you view your world.

week 6:
CONNECTING THE DOTS

The solutions we seek to what’s troubling us are often hidden in plain sight. In week 6, we bring it all together. You’ll take an idea you have and apply everything you’ve learned to set in motion a practice to pull it out of the ether and ground it here, on earth.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Spiral Up weaves creativity and posttraumatic growth together to offer a framework I’ve used, time and time again, to dig myself out of the various shit pits I’ve found myself in over the years. I developed this framework in my PhD and rather than letting it gather dust on the shelf, I’m bringing it to life in this program.

Evidence-based research to support the framework & practices

Weekly Zoom calls to practise techniques & work through any blocks

A private Telegram group (let's boycott Facebook!) to connect, seek feedback & chat

Additional resources & inspiration from Dr Maz's epic library

FAQ

We’ll be starting in July 2022, so if you’re keen, complete an application form or reach out to learn more.

You’ll be implementing the Spiral Up framework in real-time with a group of like minded people. I’ve created content for each week that you can pick and choose from – kind of like a buffet of practices – so you truly can adopt what resonates and leave the rest.

We’ll have a 90 minute call via Zoom each week (times will be determined by everyone’s location). Then, I invite you to dedicate 10 minutes a day, 6 times a week, to start building your creative habit. Time is an illusion and after week one you’ll be in a better place to know exactly how much time you need to set aside.

In this first round of Spiral Up, I know there will be hiccups (hello, welcome to being a creative human). I also have a lot of new content I want to test out and get your feedback on. So because of this, I’ll be offering Spiral up at a special price for you, my ‘day ones’. I have spent the last 7 years researching, experimenting and refining the Spiral Up framework so I only want you to join if you believe in the work and are serious about your own creativity. I will hold you accountable but I’m not your school teacher.

At a minimum, you’ll need a computer, notebook and a pen. All course content will be delivered through Thinkific and you’ll get a log in once you join Spiral Up. Our weekly calls will be hosted on Zoom and the conversation will continue in a private Telegram group (where I’ll also add the call recordings).

Nothing in life is guaranteed (except maybe death and taxes!). The results you see will be a direct result of the effort you put in. I can’t guarantee you’ll become more creative or heal yourself entirely because that’s an inside job. What I can guarantee is that I will be there with you every step of the way to teach, guide and nourish your journey.

YOU HAVE UNLIMITED
CREATIVE POTENTIAL

When I was a little girl, all I dreamed of was having time to do nothing but create. By joining me in Spiral Up, you’ll not only be making my dreams come true, you’ll also be committing to your own creative potential. The one thing I want you to know, regardless of if you join us or not, is that when it comes to creativity and growth, it’s not about perfection: it’s about expression. So if you’ve lost your voice, can’t break through the blocks or are fed up with feeling so uninspired, it might be time to Spiral Up.
