Do.Up

Never in my wildest dreams did I believe that writing about cabinet handles, cabinet pulls and other home hardware could be so creative! But that’s just what the legends at eCommerce brand Do.Up are all about: making home renovations and DIY projects more fun, stylish and affordably cool.

I had the joy of writing 3 monthly blogs and advising on content strategy for more than 1.5 years at the height of the pandemic. Collaborating with one of the Founders, Elisa, and Do.Up’s Head of Marketing & Operations, Averill, is still, to this day, one of my favourite early projects in business.

Each month the Do.Up crew would send me briefs for 3 SEO driven blogs, ranging in topics from seasonal trends, to Do.UP collection launches and features on the sustainable materials the brand uses in their products. During our time together, I also named and rolled out an interview series with some of their favourite customers, affectionately known as ‘Douppers’. This series profiled the power of DIY upcycling done with Do.Up products and is a brilliant way to showcase what the brand is all about.

What I loved most about working with Do.Up was the level of creative freedom they gave me to take an idea and run with it. So long as I hit the brief, they were always happy – heck, more often than not they sent glowing praise. I can attest this to a near perfect alignment between their vision for the brand’s voice and my own natural writing voice. This doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it’s pure magic.
